Recently, the Yantai inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Shandong province handled a batch of cotton knitted babies returned by foreign merchants.

This batch of returned products can be judged according to the current standards of our country and the EU. However, due to its detailed design, the physiological characteristics of infants and young children are not fully taken into consideration, and there are potential safety hazards, which eventually result in the return and rework.

In this regard, the inspection and quarantine department suggests that the relevant enterprises should promptly collect and update the clothing safety laws and regulations of our country and abroad, organize production in strict accordance with the technical regulations and standards of China and the importing countries, pay special attention to the safety requirements of the baby garments exported to the EU, improve the quality safety guarantee system, strictly carry out the design and production according to the requirements of the system, ensure the quality of the export products, improve the contract terms as far as possible, find out the problems in time, communicate with the customers, take the necessary remedial measures, and strive to take the initiative to defuse the risks; attach great importance to the safety and humanized design of the garments, improve the production processes, improve the design and processing level, strengthen the purchase and testing of raw and auxiliary materials, and improve the safety and comfort of the products.
