China Silk Association Convenes The Sixth Member Congress

The sixth session of the China Silk Association was held in Hangzhou in December 6, 2011.

Li Zhaosheng, deputy inspector of the market regulation and operation Department of the Ministry of Commerce and deputy director of the state cocoon silk office attended the meeting and delivered a warm congratulation on the convening of the conference.

Li Zhaosheng, deputy director, recalled the 2011 National Cocoon Silk office's "12th Five-Year" development plan, focusing on the main line of "adjusting the structure, creating brands and promoting upgrading", promoting the development of silk brand cultivation and marketing network, doing a good job in the special funds project of cocoon silk development, carrying out the national plant silk reserve regulation, and strengthening the work of industry management.

Li Zhaosheng pointed out that the cocoon and silk industry should, under the guidance of the "12th Five-Year development plan", promote the coordinated development of Eastern, central and western regions, promote technological progress, enhance the capability of independent innovation, cultivate independent silk brands, expand domestic and foreign markets, expand application areas, expand the demand for silk consumption, and realize the sustained and healthy development of the cocoon and silk industry.

In the process of publicizing and implementing the "12th Five-Year plan" outline, we should further play an important role in the association of trade associations, especially the China Silk Association, and create a favorable environment for the development of the industry.

Yi Hui, chairman of the fifth session of the China Silk Association, made a report to the Council, summarizing the main work of the association in the past four years.

As a national industry organization, the China Silk Association has maintained the interests of the industry in the past four years, promoted the smooth operation of the industry, strengthened the work of industry standards, promoted the scientific and technological progress of the industry, promoted the development of the "high-grade silk logo", promoted the development of the industry's own brand, strengthened information statistics and exchanges, continuously improved the service level of the industry, organized international activities, expanded international exchanges and cooperation, strengthened organizational construction, and strictly standardized operation.

On the one hand, the industry association is faced with a rare historical development opportunity. The state attaches great importance to the development of industry organizations. The international status and influence of China's cocoon and silk industry are constantly improving, but on the other hand, the industry still faces many challenges. The prospects for the recovery of the world's macro-economy are uncertain, the prices of domestic production factors are rising, the R & D level of silk is backward, and the reputation of independent brands is not high. These opportunities and challenges raise new and higher requirements for the work of the association.

Yi Hui put forward suggestions for the sixth session of the Governing Council, such as sticking to the tenet of service, promoting independent innovation, strengthening international exchanges and cooperation, and promoting the establishment of a new marketing mode. It also expressed gratitude for leaders, member units, provincial and municipal silk associations and all sectors of society for their concern, efforts and support, and offered hope and good wishes to the new Council.

The meeting elected Yang Yongyuan, director of China's Heng Tian Group, as the president of the Sixth Council of the China Silk Association, vice president of Wang Beiying and other 21, Qian Youqing as secretary general, and Li Zhaosheng as 66 standing directors and 246 directors.
