Zhu Hongren pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the textile industry has overcome many unfavorable factors such as large fluctuations in raw materials, rising costs and tight funds.

He said that "12th Five-Year" is a critical period for China's economic structural adjustment, and also a crucial period for the textile industry to pform from big to strong, and challenges and opportunities coexist.

In order to seize the initiative in the increasingly fierce market competition, we must enhance the capability of independent innovation, pform the industry from scale advantage to technological advantage, pform from the integrity of industrial chain to the leap of value chain, and change from learning follow up innovation to leading innovation.

Standing at the new starting point of development and realizing the textile industry from big to strong, independent innovation is more important and urgent than ever before.

The "12th Five-Year development plan" of the textile industry clarified the guiding ideology of the "12th Five-Year" development, and put forward the strategic objectives and nine key tasks of promoting the industry from big to strong.

Zhu Hongren said that the Ministry of industry and information technology will focus on promoting industry innovation in three aspects.

Focusing on mechanism construction, improving the innovation system, and promoting the formation of a number of Industrial Technology Innovation Alliances with enterprises as the main body and combining production, teaching and research, and strengthening the construction of public service system, supporting the construction of key laboratories and technology research centers, and promoting the opening and sharing of scientific and technological resources.

We should guide enterprises to increase investment in research and development, and strengthen the construction of technological centers and national innovation and demonstration enterprises.

We should promote the development of independent brands, support the development of producer services such as industrial design, brand creativity and e-commerce, and enhance product quality, design level and brand influence.
