Some textile manufacturers in Taiwan want to follow two foreign countries.

One of the more popular models on the island is UNIQLO in Japan and Zara in Spain, thereby promoting the development of existing brands in Taiwan, or creating new brands.


UNIQLO landed in Taiwan in the autumn of 2010, and opened its first store in Taipei's unified Sakhon department store. Now there are seven stores on the island.

In recent years, the company has expanded into the field of recycled fabric.

Last year, the company began receiving orders from Sweden's casual wear brand Hagloes and the famous Canadian brand Lululemon.


Hongyuan Xingye recently decided to bring its "EverSmile" brand to the island market.

The company started to promote the brand on the Internet in early October 2011, and the company expects to earn 600 million NT dollars (US $20 million) in the first year.


LEA LEA is a leading supplier of polyester, nylon and chemical fiber fabrics. Last year, the company expanded its business to outdoor products through the acquisition of "hiking" brand.

So far, the company has opened 9 "hiking" shops around the island, and plans to open more stores this year.

The company also plans to hold a large fashion show in recent months, and launched its own leisure sportswear brand in February this year.


Founded in 1975, Xinguang industry focuses on knitted fabric production. Now, several knitting and dyeing factories are set up in China.

The company also started garment production base in China, Lesotho, Kenya and Kampuchea.


In recent years, the company has been providing OEM's "ZARA" brand for its apparel. In 2009, the company bought the "easyyoga" stake and is now the general sales agent of the brand in China.

The company plans to produce its own clothes.

As an international supplier of textiles and clothing, Xinguang insists on high quality products and is eager to build up its own brand.


Texma has more than thirty years of sales experience, and is now a leading women's woven garment manufacturer, with production bases in Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Kampuchea and China.

The company's clothing is sold all over the world. Its main customers include WAL-MART, JC Penny, ocean, mango, poly, and Ralph Lauren.


Texma has been developing eco friendly multi-functional fabrics in recent years. Recently, it has been working with Tzu Chi, the largest Buddhist charity in Taiwan, to produce garments with recycled materials.

At present, there are more than 50 stores selling clothing in Taiwan. The company is considering the possibility of selling clothing in overseas Chinese communities in the future.
