The embarrassment and trouble of the Egyptian Olympic delegation due to the "fake sportswear" incident can be put to an end for a while. The Nike company provides free competitive clothing for Egyptian athletes.

The company said in a statement, "we are very pleased that Egyptian athletes can now wear authentic Nike products to participate in the greatest sports meet in the world."

Ahmed Foley, head of the Egyptian Olympic delegation, told reporters that "the Egyptian delegation made 26 payments to Nike to pay for the purchase of genuine clothing, but the company expressed its willingness to provide everything free."

After the arrival of the Egyptian Olympic delegation in London, synchronized swimmer Graf broke the news on TWITTER, saying that the Egyptian Olympic Committee provided Nike's clothes, sports shoes, bags and other counterfeits to athletes. "For example, we have a big Nike logo on our sports backpack, but we wrote Adidas on the zipper."

He said she and some of her teammates were unable to accept counterfeit clothing for the London Olympics. They bought their authentic products from about $more than 300 in their pocket.

Egyptian Olympic Committee Chairman Ahmed Ali said in a media interview on 26, providing "counterfeit Nike" is a Chinese distributor.

Ali said that it would take 300 to 500 dollars for a sportsman to provide a full set of genuine sports equipment. At present, Egypt's economic situation is difficult. The Egyptian Olympic Committee is hard to raise huge sums of money to purchase 119 genuine athletes and other members of the delegation.

Egyptian Olympic delegation spokesman Ala Gibrand told the media that in June this year, the Egyptian Olympic delegation "accepted the offer of a Chinese sports product". The other side was willing to offer Nike products at a half off discount price, and later discovered that it had been cheated.

So far, neither the Egyptian Olympic Committee nor the Olympic delegation has specifically identified the counterfeit products provided by which company.

Egypt's Pyramid daily commented on the incident. "Instead of blaming foreign dealers for counterfeiting foreign brands, it is better to ask those sports officials who do not give enough funding to athletes and then shirk their responsibilities."
