On July 6, the office of the U.S. trade representative released a list of the Sixth Batch of products (34 billion products in the tariff exclusion list) whose validity period was originally scheduled to expire on July 9, 2020.

The notice decided to extend the validity period of exclusion from July 9, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

There are 110 items in the Sixth Batch of products excluded from the original 34 billion tariff. Only 12 products have been extended this time, and 98 products have not been extended.

Extended background

The US $34 billion tariff increase list has been officially implemented since July 6, 2018, with an additional tax rate of 25%.

On July 9, 2019, the United States approved the exclusion of the Sixth Batch of 34 billion tariff increase list, with an effective period of one year. By July 9, 2020, the validity period of the Sixth Batch of 34 billion tariff exclusion list will end.

In view of the expiration of the validity period of the exclusion list, the United States opened an online opinion collection channel on April 30, 2020 to consult the public on the extension of the validity period of the exclusion list.
