An Indian Factory Uses Discarded Masks As Cotton Padded Mattresses

 

Indian police smashed a mattress manufacturer in Maharashtra, which replaced cotton with discarded masks, New Delhi television reported on the 12th. India produced 15 million masks a day when the outbreak broke out in March last year, according to New Delhi television. As production rises, discarded masks are putting a greater burden on India's already strained waste disposal system. Between June and September 2020, 18000 tons of epidemic related medical waste were produced in the country, according to the central pollution control commission.
