Researchers Use Fish Scales To Produce Textile Fibers
Fish scale is the exoskeleton of fish, rich in collagen, calcium, phosphorus, lecithin and other nutrients, but also contains chitin dietary fiber. Fish scale contains collagen fiber, which can generate electric charge under mechanical stress.
The process of turning fish scales into textile materials is very high. Researchers use fish scales to produce textile fibers and create new textile technologies.
Biological wastes in the form of hard raw fish scales are collected from fish processing markets and then desalinated to make them transparent and flexible. After washing fish scales, drying, enzyme decomposition, amino acid recombination, peptide synthesis and other processes, polyester particles are finally synthesized, and then the polyester particles are drawn into yarn and made into cloth.
This technology reuses the discarded fish scales, which has high recycling economic benefits. The collagen peptides extracted from fish scales have the function of natural deodorization, and the clothing produced with it has higher value. According to the introduction of relevant personnel, fish scale fiber dyeing is simpler, eating color is easier, and does not need a lot of chemical additives, so the production process is very environmental protection.
