The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia recently released a report that clothing, footwear and travel accessories accounted for more than half of Cambodia's total exports in 2022, worth more than 10 billion dollars.

The report shows that Cambodia exported more than 9 billion dollars worth of clothing in 2022, up 13% year on year. The export value of footwear was $1.737 billion, up 25% year on year, and the export value of tourism accessories was $1.777 billion, up 19% year on year.

Li Kuntai, chairman of the Cambodian Footwear Association, said that the clothing industry has played an important role in Cambodia's economy and created employment opportunities for Cambodians. There are about 1 million workers working in garment factories across the country. However, for 2023, as the orders at the beginning of the year did not increase, clothing exports may face some challenges.
