Xu Xiaolan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the policy briefing held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on May 19 that, according to the survey of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and big data monitoring, in March, the purchase and sales index of SMEs rebounded for two consecutive months. The production and operation of small and medium-sized enterprises generally maintained a recovery trend.

Xu Xiaolan said that in response to the impact and challenges brought by multiple factors, a series of enterprise support policies have been issued from the central to local governments, and the majority of small and medium-sized enterprises have faced difficulties and worked hard to move forward. Since this year, the production and operation of small and medium-sized enterprises have generally maintained a recovery trend and are expected to further improve. Among them, small and medium-sized enterprises with strong innovation ability, which are specialized, special and new, have shown outstanding performance. It is worth mentioning that in March, the revenue profit margins of "Little Giant" enterprises and specialized and new SMEs were 9.6% and 7.0% respectively, showing strong resilience.

Xu Xiaolan said that at present, the foundation for SMEs to stabilize and recover is not yet solid. We need to further increase support, effectively solve the difficulties faced by enterprises, and improve their comprehensive strength, scientific and technological innovation, and industrial chain supporting level.
