Recently, the US Cotton Corp conducted a household textile product survey for 800 female consumers in the United States. Among the surveyed women, the number of consumers purchasing household textile products increased significantly than before. Soft and durable cotton products are becoming more and more important in children's home textiles market.

The survey showed that many American female consumers bought children's curtains and bedding instead of having to buy them because of plans for refurbishing and planning to update their living rooms. This is similar to the findings in 2006.

76% of respondents were mainly buying at parity supermarkets, and the proportion of purchasing household textile products at parity supermarkets was 42%.

In addition, chain supermarkets, specialty stores and department stores are the main places for female consumers to buy children's home textiles.

The survey shows that the influence of children has increased significantly in the purchase of functional home textiles, from 46% in 2006 to 60% in 2008.

Functional products are most attractive to younger children.

72% of consumers purchase functional products for children under 10 years of age, compared to 52% for children aged 10~18, because these two age groups consider different factors, which makes manufacturers and retailers face more severe R & D and marketing challenges.

According to the survey results, the average consumption of American children for bed sheets in 2008 was $28, an increase over the $23 in 2006.

56% of women claimed that the amount of children's sheets bought was the same as the amount they bought for their own sheets. The percentage of household textile products in household textile consumption increased significantly from 3% to 9%.

American consumers tend to buy home textiles with antifouling and wear-resistant properties, with a ratio of 76% and 75% respectively.

From 2006 to 2008, the proportion of female consumers willing to pay higher prices for the purchase of children's cotton sheets increased from 53% to 62%. It was considered that the percentage of "very important" children in cotton sheets for children increased from 43% to 63%.

Other women's consumers consider the "very important" factors in their sheets when they buy sheets, such as size, price, color, softness and product life.

In the survey, most consumers thought that the cotton products were durable and wearable. 98% of the women emphasized that the fibers used for children's home textiles needed "very" or "quite" wear resistance.

When purchasing bedding for children, more than 2/3 of consumers tend to choose cotton products.
