Children'S Wear

The European Commission warned that more than 1/10 of the children's clothing with strings or belts sold in the EU market may have children's safety.

The European Commission warns that the strings or belts attached to children's clothing may seem insignificant, some for decoration only, but if they are not caught in bicycle wheels or clamped by car doors, they may become deadly killers.

To this end, the European Commission recommends that consumers try not to buy children's children's clothing with strings or straps for children under 7 years of age. Even for older children, the strings or belts should not be too long.

John Daly, a member of the European Commission responsible for health and consumer affairs, reminded parents to pay attention to safety when choosing clothes for their children, and warned businesses to take responsibility for product safety.

According to a market survey released on the same day, 2188 of the 16 thousand children's clothing samples surveyed by the 11 EU Member States did not comply with the EU product safety standards, of which nearly 70% of the unqualified products were infant clothing.
